Want to know more about claiming PPI?

You have come to the right place! Payment Protection Scotland have been helping customers to claim the PPI compensation they are entitled to and, in one phone call, we could start helping you too.

What evidence do I need to show that I have PPI?

You will evidence of PPI in the shape of account documentation or on statements. In most cases, PPI premiums were taken as a separate payment. When the premium was combined as part of a loan repayment, it may say that it includes an insurance payment of, followed by the amount.

There are some cases in which it may not be listed as such, therefore you will need to check the small print of your account.

If you applied for a credit card online, you will need to check your online account as at the bottom of the application form, there was an opt in box which is many cases was already ticked. In other words, you bought PPI without knowing it.

Once you are confident you have PPI – and remember, you may have more than one policy, check all loans, mortgages, car finance deals and so on – contact Payment Protection Scotland to find out about our no win, no fee service.

I’ve seen no win, no fee advertised, what does it mean?

It means that if we don’t win your case, you don’t pay us for our time or expertise.

But it means something else. We will assess your case thoroughly, looking at key factors in what would make your claim a successful one. We want you to claim all of your money back because the bank took your money for a product that was sub-standard. And they knew that the product was over-priced and that you probably weren’t covered by it either.

How soon can I expect my claim to take?

Simple cases can take anything between 8 and 12 weeks. Other cases can be a little more complicated and take longer to resolve.

If your bank or lender refuse your claim for PPI compensation, you can take your claim to the Financial Ombudsman. This is the body that deals with complaints from customers about financial companies, their products and how they were sold the products.

We can refer your case the Financial Ombudsman if you want us to do this on your behalf. This costs no more than our standard fee.
